The Principal Secretary for the State Department of Wildlife Prof. Fred Segor today chaired a meeting on the partnership between the department and the National Youth Service at the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife boardroom.

Discussions at the meeting centred on how to create a wildlife corridor and dispersal area within the National Youth Service land in Kirimon, Laikipia County.

The PS appointed a technical team to come up with modalities of actualisation of the process within one month.

The team was tasked to have a joint field visit, identify other stakeholders, and come up with a structure of partnership that will win more space for wildlife and at the same time enhance revenue generation to the National Youth Service.

Officers appointed from the State Department of Wildlife include Dr. Erastus Kanga, the Acting Director, Partnership and Human Wildlife Co-existence, Mr. Simon Gitau, KWS Assistant Director for the Mountain Conservation areas, and Ms Jocelyne Makena, the KWS Head of Lands Management, while from the National Youth Service the officer include Mr. Evans Ogwanka, Senior Deuty Secretary, Mr. Julius Thuranira, Director Farms, and Mr. John Sau, Liaison Officer.
