CS Meets Zambia And USA Ambassadeurs – 01/02/2023

Cabinet Secretary Peninah Malonza ,on 1st Feb 2023 led her Principal Secretaries PS Tourism John Ololtua, PS Wildlife Silvia Museiya and  PS Culture and Heritage Ummi Bashir in a meeting with the  High Commissioner of the Republic of Zambia to Kenya, Amb Kapalua Joyce. They held talks on how to strengthen bilateral co-operation between the Republic of Zambia and Kenya.

The Republic of Zambia is a landlocked but resource-rich country that is sparsely populated. Zambia has a population of approximately 18 million It is located in Southern Africa and shares is borders with eight countries namely; the Democratic Republic of Congo, Angola, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Malawi and Tanzania.

Kenya and Zambia have enjoyed historic cordial relations that have existed since the two countries became independent. The two countries have an established Joint Permanent Commission of Cooperation (JPCC) since 1982, which has held nine sessions. The 9th Session between Kenya and Zambia was held in Nairobi from 25th to 27th June 2015. Zambia is expected to host the 10th, Session.

In another meeting the CS and the Principals met the U.S. Ambassador to Kenya Meg Whitman even as they endeavor to push for collaborations and partnerships with various bodies and institutions on areas of cooperation in the Tourism, Wildlife and Heritage sector.
