Tourism Safety And Security Training Workshop Launch In Mombasa – 25/07/2024

In today’s interconnected and dynamic world, ensuring the safety and security of tourists is more important than ever. Tourists prefer destinations that are secure, and their experiences are deeply influenced by the protections put in place.

That is the reason why the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife, in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior and National Administration, is enhancing security measures in key tourist locations to foster confidence among tourists and investors.

PS Tourism John Ololtuaa officially opened the Tourism Safety and Security Capacity building for Stakeholders in Mombasa whose objectives are to:

  1. Equip stakeholders with the necessary knowledge and skills to address tourism safety and security issues effectively, including risk management and emergency response planning,
  2. Foster collaboration among government agencies, private sector entities, and community representatives to develop a comprehensive approach to tourism safety and security,
  3. Share and learn from best practices locally and internationally in order to stay at the forefront of tourism safety and security. This involves adopting new technologies and enhancing infrastructure, and
  4. Improving communication strategies, and identifying potential risks and vulnerabilities within our tourism sector and developing appropriate risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
