Accompanied by the Principal Secretary of the State Department of Wildlife, Silvia Museiya, CS Mutua visited Kajiado County as part of his ongoing Utalii Fresh Tours. They  held talks with the county leadership, led by H.E Governor Joseph Ole Lenku.
 
The issue of transferring the management of Amboseli National Park to the people of Kajiado is one that is very close to their hearts. The CS assured the leadership and the people of Kajiado community that the process is on course. ‘As we await the handover date, my ministry will continue investing in projects to ensure Amboseli retains its world-class status” Mutua said.
 
The Ministry of Tourism and Wildlifr will construct 𝐟𝐢𝐯𝐞 rest areas in Kajiado county, while the county government will build 𝐭𝐞𝐧 to ensure visitors experience a sense of comfort, convenience and security while touring. “Furthermore, my ministry will collaborate closely with the county to map out all existing tourist attractions and products, identify gaps, and address them accordingly” he committed
Dr Mutua said the  Ministry will immediately commence maintenance works on all roads within Amboseli National Park, which were significantly impacted by the El Niño rains.
 
Additionally, the Ministry will partner with the County Government to upgrade the Noongotiak Cultural Centre to provide tourists with an opportunity to experience the Maasai culture firsthand. “Moreover, we will actively seek investors to build modern lodges, hotels, and conservancies within Amboseli to further enhance the tourism experience in the region” CS assured
