The Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife – Kenya has begun Public Participation forum on Tourism Policy and Tourism Amendment Bill 2024.
The exercise spearheaded by the State Department for Tourism – Kenya was today held in County Government of Uasin Gishu, Eldoret town with Tourism Stakeholders in the region giving their views on the Policy and the Bill.
The proposed National Tourism Policy and Tourism Amendment Bill 2024 seeks to address emerging trends, promote sustainable tourism, enhance governance structures and create a tourism enabling environment.
In attendance were Director for Tourism Mr. David Kinyangi, Uasin Gishu Tourism CECM Eng Martha Cheruto, State Department for Tourism senior officers, Representatives from Baringo County, Turkana County as well as Elgeyo Marakwet County, all forming the North Rift region.
Today’s forum forms part of a series of public participation exercises this week that will see the team visit Western Region: Kakamega, Kisumu and Narok Counties respectively.
