The state department of wildlife Manages National parks, Reserves and Marine parks

The department is responsible for coordinating the formulation and implementation of species national conservation and management strategies especially those of endangered species to ensure viable populations of wildlife and their ecosystems are maintained.

Through KWS (Kenya wildlife service) the state department of wildlife conserves and manages Kenya wildlife for the Kenyan people.

Formulate, implement and review wildlife policy in collaboration with stakeholders.

Facilitate collaboration for effective governance and financing of the wildlife sector between communities, private conservancies, counties, national government and international partners
