Prof Segor flags off conservation walk

The Principal Secretary for the State Department for Wildlife, Prof. Fred Segor has pointed out that habitat loss, climate change, and land use are some of the reasons for low densities of plains game.

He disclosed that the recent national wildlife census undertaken by the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife, the Kenya Wildlife Service and the Wildlife Research and Training Institute showed that land tenure systems change, exponential human population growth, and additional demand for land for settlement and infrastructure also compounded the problem.
