She attended Kenya High School, Nairobi and attained East African Advanced Certificate of Education.

Special Awards: - Moran of Burning Spear (MBS) (2001) and  CBS (2005).

Working Experience
  • 31st January 2003: to date: Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tourism & Wildlife (now Ministry of Tourism)
  • 26th March 2002: Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs
  • November, 2000 to March, 2002: Chief of Protocol, Ministry of Foreign Affairs
  • 1995 - 2000: First Secretary and later Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission Kenya High Commission, London
  • 1991 - 1995: Served in various capacities at the Ministry Headquarters including Desk Officer, Asia and Australia and Europe & Commonwealth Divisions, and as Senior Protocol Officer, Protocol Department
  • 1985 - 1990: Third, and later second secretary, Kenya High Commission, Ottawa
  • 1982 - 1985: Joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and served at Ministry Headquarters in various capacities including Desk officer, Middle East Division, Americas Division and Africa & OAU Division
